Conference/Multi-Use Room

Users: The conference room may be used by graduate students, professors, and researchers, as long as it is not being used for an activity or presentation.

Academic Integrity: This room and its equipment are available for instructional, academic, or research-related purposes that pertain to the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez.

Capacity: This room has the capacity to sit 30 users on the work tables and 4 additional users in the high tables. For conferences and activities that wish to seat a greater capacity, users should reserve the common room.

Recommended Use: This room may be used for individual or group projects related to work, presentations or any other activities that require collaborative or investigative labor.

  • All users should, therefore, pertain to one of these three authorized groups. (graduate students, professors, or researchers)
    • So long as the conference room is not being used for another activity, it is available for free use.
      • For upcoming activity and to know the availability of this room for any individual or group-related projects, users should refer to the calendar.

Furniture: The furniture available in this room can be rearranged according to the need of its users, whether for one single person or a small group.

Equipment:

The conference room has this equipment available:

  • One (1) 80” Sharp Aquos Interactive Board System, powered by wePresent System:
  • One (1) 80” Sharp LC-80Le661U Monitor, powered by wePresent System:
  • Six (6) electrical outlets with the capability to connect four (4) additional outlets and two (2) USB ports on top of the working tables.
  • Twenty-six (26) electrical outlets distributed throughout the room.
  • Thirty-six (36) data ports distributed throughout the room.

Commons

Users: The common room may be used by graduate students, professors, or researchers.

Academic Integrity: This room and its equipment are available for instructional, academic, or research-related purposes that pertain to the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez.

Capacity: This room has the capacity to sit fourteen (14) users. If a user chooses to sit on the ground, they must make sure that neither they nor their belongings obstruct entrances, passageways, or other equipment in any moment.

  • If it is required, this room can be used for conferences.
  • For upcoming activities and availability for individual or group study, please check the calendar.

Recommended Use: This room can be used for work by individuals or small groups.

Furniture: The available furniture in this area can be rearranged according to the needs of its users, whether for one single person or a small group.

Technology:

The common room has available:

  • One (1) iMac computer
  • One (2) Fujitsu Image Scanner ScanSnap SV600.
  • Three (3) Hp EliteOne.
  • Two (2) Lenovo Yoga Home 900 All-in-One mobile PC, placed on Lenovo Horizon 2 Multimode tables.
  • Three (3) portable electrical outlets with the capability to connect six (6) additional outlets.
  • Twenty-two (22) electrical outlets distributed throughout the room.
  • Thirty-six (36) data ports distributed throughout the room.

Full Hub

Users: The Full Hub can be used by graduate students, professors, and researchers.

Academic Integrity: This room and its equipment are available for instructional, academic, or research-related purposes that pertain to the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez.

Capacity: The Full Hub is a combination of Hub 1 and Hub 2. If a user is interested in using this area, it has the capacity to sit ten (10) people, with tables, and a maximum capacity of twenty (20) people, no tables.

Recommended Use:

The Full Hub can be reserved for groups of eight (8) to twenty (20) graduate students, professors, and/or researchers for group work and for investigative work such as presentations, thesis meetings, writing proposals or other similar activities.

In addition, this space is ideal for a thesis or dissertation defense meeting, with the capacity to seat a committee (table and 4 chairs) and fifteen (15) additional chairs for the public.

  • All users should, therefore, pertain to one of these three authorized groups. (graduate students, professors, or researchers)

Furniture: The available furniture in this area can be rearranged according to the needs of its users.

Technology:

The Full Hub has this equipment available:

  • One (1) 55” Samsung UHD 6300 monitor connected to an Apple TV.
  • One (1) 55” Samsung UHD 6300 monitor connected to a Stick PC with keyboard and mouse.
  • Twelve (12) electrical outlets.
  • 16 (16) data ports.
